Emergency Medicine

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine UK runs two main examinations MRCEM and FRCEM Exams.

From April 2014 trainees are now able to attend MRCEM and FRCEM exams in RCSI, Dublin in addition to a number of international centres.

MRCEM  The MRCEM examination has three parts (A,B,C) and is essential for entry into Advanced Training.

FRCEM  The Fellowship examination is essential for obtaining your CCST in Emergency Medicine.

All RCEM examinations are conducted in English. Where a candidate’s first language is not English, a candidate’s communication and written skills in English should be equivalent to a level 7 or more in each section (speaking, listening, reading and writing) of the academic module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
